ASU at Lake Havasu Summer STEM Camp

Summer camp that builds a foundation

ASU has cancelled all face to face camps that are taking place through the end of June due to the current COVID-19 situation. We will be in contact with parents who have signed up their students and paid with further details.

Put your child on track for success in math and science. ASU@Lake Havasu is offering summer camps that offer fun, hands-on enrichment activities from local experts in science, technology, engineering and mathematics education. Campers entering the 4th through 8th grade in Fall 2020 will participate in grade appropriate activities developed to complement school curriculum in STEM subjects and to increase interest in careers that use math and science.

Science Camp

The ASU Havasu Summer Science Camp’s focus is hands-on projects where students explore activities based in Chemistry, Life Sciences, and Physics. Each day students will design and build items, engage in activities, and conduct real world experiments. These activities are designed to help them to understand concepts that they will see later on in high school.

Math Camp

The ASU Havasu Summer Math Camp will explore 3 math topics with hands-on activities. In Game Theory, campers will investigate the probability concepts of permutations and combinations that show up in games and many real life situations. In Math of Secret codes, they will explore topics of matrices and error correcting codes that are used in the real world. In Math of Patterns in Art, campers will explore and model geometric and algebraic forms that are present in art. These 3 topics will help students to get a head start on Algebra, Geometry, Statistics and Calculus concepts that they will develop in high school.
