Criminal Justice Camp

Get hands-on experience in the criminal justice field.

Whether you are still in high school or are currently enrolled in a university or community college criminal justice program, we invite you to apply to one of two competitive criminal justice camp programs this summer in Lake Havasu city.

High School Criminal Justice Camp

If you have dreams of a career in criminal justice, come get a glimpse of the real deal to help you decide if it's the right fit for you. During this week-long camp, you'll meet with law enforcement agents, lawyers, doctors, judges and professors. You'll tour a prison, a crime lab and a morgue and investigate a mock crime scene.

Dates:
Saturday, June 9 – Friday, June 15, 2018

All high school students, including incoming freshmen and those who have recently graduated from high school, are welcome to apply.

Cost: $300 for the week — housing, meals and activities are included and scholarships are available.

Application deadline: March 12, 2018

An application with a personal statement and three letters of recommendation is required. Only 20 campers will be selected. Notifications of selection will be made no later than April 27, 2018.

Summer Camp Application

Additional information

  • If selected, payment must be received by May 31, 2018.
  • Campers will reside in the ASU at Lake Havasu residence hall.
  • Participants MUST be enrolled in high school or be a recent graduate at the time camp is in session.

 

Criminal Justice Career Experience Camp

If you are currently enrolled in a university or community college criminal justice program, we invite you to apply to the highly competitive ASU at Lake Havasu Criminal Justice Career Experience Camp this summer. During the program you will be provided you the opportunity to work hands-on in the criminal justice field.

Criminal Justice Career Experience dates:

Saturday, June 23 – Friday, 29, 2018
Selected students will choose four or five career options and work alongside professionals and experts to receive practical experience and personal insight from seasoned practitioners.

Some of the career areas to choose from include:

  • police investigation
  • fire fighting/emergency medical
  • crime scene investigation
  • medical examiner
  • defense attorney
  • juvenile/adult probation
  • national parks service
  • fish/game
  • Sheriff's office

Cost: $350 for the week — housing, meals and activities are included and scholarships are available. 

Criminal Justice Careers Experience Application

Application deadline:
April 1, 2018

Only 20 campers will be selected. Applications must be received by April 15.
Notifications of selection will be made no later than April 27, 2018. 

Additional information

  • Participants must be currently enrolled in a post-high school academic program.
  • Once notified of camp acceptance, payment in full must be received no later than May 31, 2018.
  • No refunds will be given if cancellation is after June 9, 2018.
  • Students traveling by plane to Lake Havasu City may want to fly into The Las Vegas or Phoenix airport.
