Jenna Lowder is an English and introductory communications instructor at Arizona State University in Lake Havasu City. She received her EdD in Leadership and Innovation from ASU, her MEd in Leadership with an emphasis in community college and higher education in 2016 from Northern Arizona University, and her master's in English with an emphasis in literacy, technology, and professional writing in 2008, also from NAU.

Prior to starting full time with ASU, she taught English and communication for a community college for 13 years and has been English associate faculty for Arizona State University since 2015. Dr. Lowder has also worked in K-12 education since 2003, primarily teaching senior British literature. She was the lead faculty for the ASU at Lake Havasu education initiatives as well as the local site lead for the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College where she observed and coached student teachers.

She has a passion for researching and integrating innovative student engagement techniques and firmly believes that connectivity and a positive collaborative learning environment are paramount to student success and persistence. Her dissertation was a mixed-methods action research project aimed at understanding if a knowledge-building intervention changes the perception of rural high school juniors on the perception of staying local for college after high school.
