Sharon Harvey teaches sustainability courses at ASU@Lake Havasu and directs the General Studies degree program. As the first faculty member hired, Harvey has responsibility for developing curriculum and selecting faculty and staff members to serve the students at ASU's Lake Havasu City location.

Before coming to Arizona State University, she taught for nine years at the higher education level at the University of Idaho, McGill University and Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Harvey's publications include two books, four book chapters, and an article in the Environmental Philosophy journal. In addition, Sharon has presented numerous papers at scholarly conferences.

She holds the distinction of receiving the first doctorate in the environmental science program at the University of Idaho, and also holds two master's degrees: one in philosophy from Washington State University and one in religious studies from McGill University.
